Korea Forbes Power List 2019

Korea Forbes Power List 2019

Well the Power List is out (covering from March 2018-Now), and it is clear that I am totally disappointed. The Forbes Power List basically rank which celebrities or group was the most popular in the past year. The people at Forbes Korea usually do this by three caterogies “media exposure” (how much time they were mention by the media. Only the ones register with Forbes Korea though), “earnings” (films, commercials, dramas, music sales etc), “broadcasts” (domestic apperance. Basically apperance on like variety shows), and new this year “social media” (how many followers/subscribers on youtube, facebook, twitter, instagram etc). People in scandals were not included in this list, or else Seungri or Park Yoo Chun might have gotten first! The top 5 were all idols or idol groups. Guess who place first in the Forbes Power list this year. Guess just take a guess…

HA YOU ARE WRONG! It is Blackpink NOT BTS. As Forbes puts it “Although they came in first in media exposure and earnings, BTS, who did not have many domestic activities last year, took No. 39 in terms of broadcast activities and came in second overall”. Blackpink won big in terms of social media caterogy though, I mean Blackpink’s Lisa is now the most follow idol/musician on instagram from Korea. Here are the Top 40 rankings…..

  2. BTS
  3. Wanna One
