A kid show- “COK! COK! Boner Hani” – is making sexual innuendos again

It’s been awhile for me since I have watch any kid shows you know, I am a grown ass MANLY MAN but Barney the Purple Dinosaur and Sesame Street has always had a special place in my heart. So just the other day I decided to turn on the TV bored out of my mind this winter break. Suddenly I thought……. OOOOH BOI, MAYBE I SHOULD WATCH SOME KIDS SHOW TO GET INTO THE SPIRIT OF THINGS. Switching over to PBS I caught an episode of Sesame Street, and I realize, why the fuck is this show speaking so relevant to me? And I felt absolutely terrible, I mean for me it was like turning on the ABC Song and saying “wow you know I really learned something today”! Like this was suppose to be a kid show, how is it this fucking deep??? Did I miss something when I was a kid? All I remember was high pitch Elmo taking me to his world where we draw things and check email, how is there a hijab wearing muppet and an HIV Positive Muppet. I feel sad now knowing that there is a muppet out there that is less of a virgin than me! How early do fucking kids do it these days??? Isn’t sesame street for under 12 year old?? Is prebuscent kids going at it now??!!

Out of that whole journey of rewatching Sesame Street, I feel like Sesame Street is a powerful kid show cause it prepares kid not only for school, but for life as well. I wish that all kid show prepare you for life, that’s why over the past few days, I was SHOOOOKKKKKKKEDD that “Tok! Tok! Boni Hani” has been taken off the air for teaching South Korean kids about life!

The fact of the case is this, apparently there’s this kid show called “Tok! Tok! Boni Hani”. The name “Boni” and “Hani” are actually fake names from two of the MC of the show, little known KPop group Buster’s Chaeyeon and Newkidd’s Jinkwon as “MC Hani and Boni” respectively. Surprising that they take pseudonyms, it’s like they are a part of a drug deal or something. Anyways apparently the issue concern Chaeyeon and a Comedian Choi Young Soo on the show. Choi Young Soo apparently had an INSPIRATIONAL MOMENT, an epiphany. He realized that tons of kids were watching this show and instead of just dressing up like a drug addict in Hawaii he was gonna give them a life lesson. Stretching his hand over, he appear to have hit Chaeyeon in the clip below.

South Korean viewers were OUTRAGE about this kind of physical abuse and demand Choi Young Soo to own up to his mistake of hitting a minority! People took to Twitter to express their outrage at this ABUSE, but here I was munching on my popcorn when I watch that clip and I was like “you know…chomp chomp it builds character”. If this was a white kid show, please put the man in jail! This is an Asian kid show though, I would like to say “Mr. Young Soo why are you using your hands?? You know the best lessons are from a SWITCH”. Guys if we are going to put this guy behind bars for physically abusing a minor with just a shoulder slap, we gonna probably have to jail the entire South Korean parent population.

Anyways Comedian Choi Young Soo said “it’s a prank bro!!” as his response to viewers outrage. Even the producers of the show was like “bro why are people so upset at the joke?”, even Monstergram Inc., Buster’s company, was like “bro it’s just a joke”. YOU SEE, THEY GET IT EVERY PERSON IN SOUTH KOREA PROBABLY ahem CHARACTER BUILD THEIR KID LITTLE ASS IF THEY DON’T DO WELL IN SCHOOL. Comedian Choi was OBVIOUSLY trying to connect to the little kids and their struggles at home through the medium of LAUGHTER!

As the issue grew, EBS posted on their homepage, “The controversy that is arising due to a clip of a live video is false. Please refrain from speculating any further.” The producer of the show said, “I am giving a statement because many people seemed worried about yesterday’s live stream. The controversy is not true at all. Please do not speculate anymore.” Monstergram Inc., the agency of Busters, sent an official statement about the situation: “The member herself considered the action a joke and she is taken aback due to how serious many believe the issue is. “We will advise EBS and the cast members to not let something like this happen again.

Man, this show is TOTALLY being WITCH HUNTED by the viewer MOB, man these viewers don’t get the CULTURE. That incident you know kinda blew over afterwards, the viewers were probably like “wait a second I beat my son/daughter little asses too”. It would have probably gone under the rug if not for ANOTHER WITCH HUNT BY THE VIEWER MOB THAT DOESN’T UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE. A few days later after the incident, another video surface with comedian Park Dong Geun jokingly telling Chaeyeon she was a total whore. Apparently the exact words that he called her translate to something like “Listerine using bitch” which apparently is a reference to the many prostitutes in Korea who uses Listerine before giving out a BJ. First off I would like to say I found that oddly specific, like the mouthwash that is reference in Korea is Listerine? Anyone that is a mouthwash connoisseur like myself knows swishing Listerine is basically like drinking gasoline and then lighting your mouth on fire. I’m a ACT Kids man of course, and it comes in BUBBLE GUM FLAVORS!

Ok it’s kind of BAD, she’s a 15 year old kid and calling her a prostitute is not really nice. At least 18 years old Mr. Dong Geun! Until that is you remember that this is Korea we are talking about where 14-16 years old debut in idol groups where they could potentially be already sexualizing themselves for money . CLEARLY, comedian Dong Geun was TEACHING SOUTH KOREAN KIDS about LIFE! BUT NOOOOOOO, THIS GREAT MAN JUST HAD TO BE WITCH HUNTED FOR I GUESS OUTING A COMMON OCCURANCE IN SK LIVES!

When pressed for a response though, the show producers and parent company EBS said basically, “woah what Listerine is associated with prostitutes say what……”

EBS stated, “There was always Listerine in the waiting room, and Chaeyeon would always gargle with Listerine before a show.” They added, “During the live broadcast, he was joking with Chaeyeon and said it to tease her, but both the producer and Park Dong Geun himself did not know that it was a problematic expression.” The network apologized for the use of the expression without knowledge of the meaning, saying both the producers and Park Dong Geun were surprised.

The President of EBS though did finally say that the show will be put under investigation for being “TOOOOOO REAL” and that Park Dong Geun and Choi Young Soo will be suspended for the duration.

We apologize. We sincerely apologize to the viewers who always love EBS. Recently, the the YouTube broadcast of EBS’s popular program ‘Tok! Tok! Boni Hani’ included a scene of violence and a scene of verbal sexual harassment which were broadcast without editing. They have caused much discomfort and hurt to our viewers, who are mainly young students. EBS accepts how serious the situation is, and we strongly feel responsibility. As soon as EBS became aware of the incidents, we held an emergency planning meeting and we established our next steps as a company and determined how we will carry them out. Firstly, we are immediately suspending the two cast members involved in the issue [Choi Young Soo, Park Dong Geun], and we have deleted the YouTube video. Rather than this incident being a personal issue between cast members, it is first the great responsibility of EBS’s management. EBS is also very shocked and feels greatly responsible after this incident, which should never have happened, occurred. After this incident, we will be re-examining our entire process for choosing the cast members of our programs.

In the latest round of news both of those two douchebags have been fired and the show has been taken off the air. An animated LESS REAL kid show will air in the timeslot for the meantime.

On December 12, a source from EBS stated, “Starting today, EBS’s ‘Tok! Tok! Boni Hani’ will come to a halt. We have an animation replacing the show’s slot this week, and we are discussing the future scheduling plans.” On the morning of the same day, EBS’s CEO Kim Myung Joong held an emergency meeting with the broadcasting station’s high-ranking officials and discussed why the incident happened, how it can be prevented in the future, and the disciplinary action that will be taken. The general manager and the head of EBS’s department of children, who are in charge of the show’s production, were removed from their positions, and the show’s entire production crew was replaced. The CEO instructed the officials to forward those related to the program to the disciplinary committee and come up with foolproof methods to prevent such incidents from reoccurring. An “emergency team for system inspection and the establishment of comprehensive measures” was formed and led by EBS’s vice-president. CEO Kim Myung Joong stated, “The recent incident is something that absolutely cannot happen and defeats the purpose of EBS’s name. We will carefully inspect the production system in its entirety to resolve the issue and prevent it from reoccurring. We deeply apologize to the cast member who was hurt by this incident.”
